Summer
The hot summer season in Sankt Johann im Pongau

“In di Berg’ bin i dahoam”

When the hot sun is blazing down from the sky, you want nothing more than to have fun in the water. To let off steam in the cool water, you will find the forest swimming pool or the Plakenau bathing lake in the immediate vicinity. You don’t have to travel long distances to Goldegg either. You are welcome to use the path to the bathing area for your Nordic walking tour. We can provide you with the appropriate sticks for hire.

If you venture into the mountains, beautiful hiking trails with unforgettable views await you. Please ask for more information when you arrive. There is something for every sporting level. If you are looking for a quiet sport, we can recommend the golf course nearby.

For all those who want to enjoy a fantastic view with ease, there is the “Sommerbergbahn” gondola, which takes you to the Geisterberg mountain and nature adventure world. The Geisterberg mountain adventure park is easily accessible with the “ghost train”, which runs every half hour and offers a variety of different play stations for young and old. Since summer 2020, there has also been a new family highlight: the Drachis via ferrata. Taking a baby carriage with you is absolutely no problem here.

Sankt Johann im Pongau literally shines in all its glory in summer. Not only on our organic farm “Reiterhof”, but also all around is a majestic green landscape, accompanied by flower meadows, rolling hills and imposing rock formations. Why not visit the spectacular Lichtenstein Gorge with its fascinating waterfalls and deep gorges?

There is so much to discover and experience around our farm, with a variety of leisure activities for the whole family. We will be happy to inform you about your excursion destinations on site.

On foot or on bicycles

Hiking in Sankt Johann is particularly popular due to the hilly to mountainous topography. The choice is varied and ranges from leisurely, largely flat walking trails to challenging alpine and mountain tours that lead far beyond the city limits.

You can also explore many of these routes by mountain bike, as Sankt Johann offers direct access to the Tauern Cycle Path and the Alpe-Adria Cycle Path. Experience the beauty of the landscape during your tours and be inspired by its diversity.
